Why is home depot a good company to work for

This is in direct reference to a distribution center. The company has no interest in increasing wages for all employees. Priority goes to the highest grossing DC. So you can be paid more to do the same job you have depending on your location.

My experience was awful, people regularly got hurt on the job because there was little to no regard for safety. Nothing changed, nothing was improved. As long as it didn't result in death the company had no interest in employees health and well being. I'd post photos to provide evidence if this site let me. However the biggest issue is the way raises work. Unless you fall under a middle management level employee you are ineligible.

Unless of course you interview at a new location, negotiate for more money and start all over like a new hire. Pros Free lunch once a month. Cons Short breaks, broken equipment, no concern for safety. Great place to work, nice pay and benefits for corporate employees; The job security is nice; The hiring and promotion process is not entirely fair. Pros Great work-life balance. Cons Limited networking opportunities due to working remotely. Jobs at The Home Depot.

Software Engineer Intern-Atlanta. User Experience Intern-Atlanta. Human Resources Internship. I was there for a year I hated it. Throw Associates to the the floor after a day of training. Benefits suck. When you call for a manager no one comes and they turn off their phones!!!

Pros Money. Cons Everything. I worked all over the store, from cashier to plumbing to paint to hardware to garden, you name it. You're supposed to get a break every couple of hours but sometimes I would work 12 hours straight without a break or lunch. I have worked at THD for almost three years now. Anytime I have concerns, they listen. Pros Benefits , Great Management, Flexibility. Associates become family, managers are for self.

At the Home Depot, they preach that everyone is family and that all can advance if the work is put in. The truth is that they promote people that are not fully engaged.

They target the workers that put forth maximum effort and give additional task and let the people that roam, roam. Pros k, Stock Program. Cons Poor pay , Disengaged Management team, unfair bonus checks.

Great place to work! Home Depot is a great place to work. The people are appreciative and great to get along with. They work with you on your schedule and have really good benefits for part-time. I really enjoy my job and feel valued as an employee. Pros Flexibility, Pay, Respectful, and Appreciative. Cons None. Wonderful place to work , I look forward to going to work everyday!

Great benefits, compensation and education opportunities. Career advancement if you want it is always available. Unorganize, change routines ALL the time, to many teenagers hired who don't want to work. I have been at Depot a long time but it has gotten worse. They hire to many teenagers who don't want to work and come and go nonstop. No one is held for their lack of work, they change anything and everything constantly, no communication at all, new managers taking down stores that used to be good because of lax care.

Pros Have alot of chance for getting full time and benifits. Cons Lack of communication, terrible new employees, no accountability held, lax managment. They worked with my schedule and never gave me problems. The pay was decent and they gave me hours if I asked for more. My coworkers are the best.

Slide 6 of 8. Excellent Customer Service. Creating Shareholder Value We aim to be the best company we can be. They are extremely flexible. Breaks are given every 2 hours and you have a choice to take either a half an hour break or a one hour break. They love their employees. We are all treated as family. Pros They buy employees food, enough for absolutely everybody! Cons Absolutely no cons. Management or corporate expect associates to do task that require 4 to 6 labor hours divided between 2 or 3 people but only allowed like 2 labor hours to do the task lately it has been only me schedule to do a job that requires more than 3 or more people but expected to have it all done by the end of my shift.

Pros Friendly staff. Snacks always avalible. Cons Corpralized making the work flow unrealistic. Rate your recent company Share your experience to help others.

Work is fast paced. It was an okay job. The work was fast paced for the most part. Made the night go by faster. Co-workers were good people. Management would put unnecessary pressure on the employees which brought morale down. Sixteen dollars an hour, if I was a younger or older man I'd rather work fast food.

Pros Job site was short driving distance. Cons Management pressure. Overall a good company they treat employees like family and everyone looks out for one another I was out with covid and they would call and check on me and took the time to send a get well soon paxkag6and card.

There is poor communication between management and employees. Always feel left in the dark and uncertain about things. Assistant managers are always being transferred, and most don't do much at all on the sales floor. There is never enough employee coverage on the floor. This is a good temp job, or if you live close by and need the money while you look for a better job. Pros decent co-workers, benefits, and job stability.

Cons poor management and wages for the work. We are like family here. This job is very flexible if your a hard worker. I enjoyed my time working for Home Depot, however the work was very repetitive.

My coworkers made it an enjoyable place to work. The one thing that bothered me about this job was I could never get my schedule right.

Pros Benefits. Cons Scheduling. Jobs at The Home Depot. Software Engineer Intern-Atlanta. User Experience Intern-Atlanta. Human Resources Internship. Just horrible work environment. Management showed favoritism to certain workers and kept those around that should have been let go due to attendance or misconduct.

The only good thing about the job is some of the people you work with and health benefits. You cannot trust the managers. Pros good strong schedules. Cons hours. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Totally unqualified Staff , naybe just this store, hopefully not all are like this.

Management is dysfunctional and has a bunch of favorites hardly any training, long term co workers don't hardly even talk to people, new people are excluded. Pros Customers, nice. Cons Assitant managers and dept. Bilingual staff are expected to translate regularly and are not offered compensation for having that additional skill. Not to mention these translators, coaches, machine operators, and trainers are still expected to keep up with their own workload even though they are spending the majority of their time helping the new associates, again for no additional pay and are then reprimanded for not completing their assigned workload.

Supervisors are getting paid. Management spends a lot of time delegating from the back office via email instead of being on the floor side by side with staff providing coaching, mentoring, or training.

Majority of managers in the store cannot be relied upon for assistance since they themselves do not know how to use the software to create, change nor manipulate orders if the need arises.

If an associate needed help completing an order because they could not remember the process, management would be the last to call, they are better off trying to figure it out on their own.
