To use the wafer thin dies -you'll need the addition of the ' multipurpose platform '. This will give you just the thickness needed to cut the felt! Occasionally you will find that the thin dies are not cutting well -we have found adding a card stock shim in addition to the platform provides just enough pressure to give the felt a clean cut!

We turned the flat petals into dimensional flowers by forming the flowers around a felt ball using a little hot glue! This die has a lot of possibilities! You'll be making full felt bouquets or bows or garlands or animal friends in no time at all with a few time saving tools!

Happy crafting friends! However, they work well on felt and result in a decorative zig-zagged edge. Scalloped fabric shears have a more rounded edge than pinking shears and are harder to find in stores. They create a wavy decorative edge. Note: Pinking and scallop shears are not the same as decorative scrapbooking scissors intended for cutting paper.

I will outline the tools for each method below but head over to that post for more detailed information and the pros and cons of each method. All of the methods below will also require a pair of sharp scissors or a rotary cutter.

Chalk can be used to transfer felt patterns as well. After transferring the pattern using chalk, cut the felt shapes with a sharp pair of scissors. In a pinch, you can transfer and cut patterns from felt using regular printer paper, scotch tape , and a pair of scissors.

You likely already have both of these supplies sitting at home! Pinning a pattern to felt is one of the least accurate methods of cutting felt but also works in a pinch. Print your pattern, pin it to the felt, and cut around the edges of the pattern with your scissors or rotary cutter. Many shops on Etsy and Amazon offer precut felt in a variety of shapes and sizes.

There are many different types of manual die cutting machines. These machines need additional dies to work and come in loads of fun shapes. You sandwich the dies in cutting pads and manually roll them through the machine to cut out the shapes.
